January Scallop (Pecten maximus) dredging in Cardigan Bay. There is more of this fishing activity than usual with an influx of large visiting vessels to the area. |

February "Betty G" E535 Scallop (Pecten Maximus) dredging continues in Cardigan Bay. "Saturnus" WD47 24th - The scallopers were not disturbing the 50+ strong pod of dolphins in the Bay. |

March 1st - This photo was taken of Mynydd Mawr and Bardsey Island at sunset on St David's Day. Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris) gather in their hundreds and then thousands at dusk near Castellmarch beach, Abersoch. The sky darkens as the starlings fly in tight ball and ribbon shaped formations. |

April 20th - A man was bitten by an adder near Llanbedrog beach. He was on a treasure hunt with his family when he saw three adders and picked on of them up. He was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd and given anti-venom. 28th - I saw my first swallows of the year. |
Mai 11ed - Cynhaliwyd râs gychod gwyllt ym Mhwlleli. Gohurwyd y râs am tua hanner awr oherwydd bod morlo ar y cwrs. "Heights of Abraham" 25ain - Mae'r allt hon wedi'i gorchuddio gan glychau'r gog i'w gweld oddi ar y ffordd ger Aberdesach. Ynys Enlli yn y niwl / Bardsey Island in fog 29ain - Niwl trwchus ar y môr rhwng ym Mae Caernarfon a haul braf ym Mae Ceredigion. 31st - Clywsom y gog am y tro cyntaf elenni. Daeth y tywydd braf yn ystod wythnos diwetha'r mis â miloedd o'r sglefren fôr Aurelia aurita i draethau Llŷn. |

May 11th - The Honda Formula 4-Stroke powerboat race was held at Pwllheli. The race was delayed for about half an hour due to a seal on the course. "Vortigern" 25th - This fantastic bluebell covered slope can be seen from the road near Aberdesach. Ynys Enlli yn y niwl / Bardsey Island in fog 29th - Thick fog at sea in Caernarfon Bay with bright sunshine in Cardigan Bay. 31st - We heard the cuckoo for the first time this year. The warm weather during the final week of May brought thousands of the jellyfish Aurelia aurita to the beaches of Llŷn. |

June Many spider crabs (Maja squinado) have reached the Llŷn coast. The lobster pots are full of them and some are seen on the beaches. 18th - This dead tope was seen on Llanbedrog beach. 21st - Today was the longest day of the year. Hundreds of large jellyfish (Rhizostoma octopus) were washed up on the Warren beach. Rhizostoma octopus 30th - A stream of the jellyfish Aurelia aurita was carried by the flood tide off Cilan Head. |

Smac 38 tunnell a adeiladwyd ym Mhwllheli yn 1851 ydoedd. David Davies oedd ei pherchennog ac fe'i collwyd ar Draeth Castellmarch 14eg Hydref, 1902. |
Ci glas / Tope (Galeorhinus galeus) ger Ynys Enlli / near Bardsey Island The Red Arrows Morhwch / Dolphin, Porth Ceiriad "Fossil"

July 1af - We saw fishermen aboard Judy B catch a tope (Galeorhinus galeus) near Bardsey Island. 10th - The Red Arrows came to Wakestock.
(Red Arrow photographs by Richard Hughes) 17th - We saw at least 6 dolphins off Porth Ceiriad, Abersoch. 27th - The remains of the "Fossil" have appeared on Castellmarch Beach and were visible this morning at low water. "Fossil" was a 38 ton smack built at Pwllheli in 1851. She was owned by David Davies and wrecked on the Castellmarch/Warren beach, on 14th October, 1902. |

August 8th - This parasitic worm was seen in a bass taken off Criccieth. It is the cod or seal worm (Phocanema decipiens). 12th - Nothing like a Land Rover! |
Medi 10ed - Nofiodd yr hen forlo hwn at ein cwch ger Trwyn Cilan. Roedd wedi colli ei olwg yn y lygad dde ac yr oedd ganddo friw newydd ar ei wddf. Meddyliom ei fod am neidio i'n cwch Wedi colli ei olwg yn y lygad dde / Lost his sight in the right eye |

September 10th - This large old grey seal swam up to our boat off Cilan Head. He had lost the sight in his right eye and had a fresh wound on his neck. We thought that he was going to jump into our boat. Briw diweddar ar ei wddf / Fresh wound on neck |

October 5th - A large female lobster that had once been V-notched was taken off Porth Ysgaden. 17th - A headless seal pup was one of the creatures washed up on Hell's Mouth. Lepas anatifera |
Tachwedd Llifogydd/Floods, Riverside 14eg - Wedi glaw trwm a llanw uchel roedd llifogydd ar y ffordd rhwng Llanbedrog a Phwllheli. Llifogydd/Floods, Pont Rhyd John, Llanbedrog 16eg - Gwelais bysgodyn gwyn (Merlangius merlangus) wedi ei olchi i'r lan ar draeth Llanbedrog. 17eg - Gwelais ddraenog y môr wedi ei fasgu mewn rhwyd ac yr oedd y draenog wedi hanner llyncu y penog hwn a oedd yn 22cm o hyd. 19eg - Dau filidowcar ac un trochydd mawr wedi eu masgu mewn rhwyd draeth ym Morfa Nefyn gan i lawer o adar y môr gael eu gyrru tua'r lan gan y gwyntoedd cryfion. 25ain - Parhau mae'r gwyntoedd cryfion a'r glaw trwm. Pysgodyn gwyn (Merlangius merlangus) arall wedi ei olchi i'r lan ar draeth Llanbedrog. 30ain - Yr eira cyntaf i'w weld ar fynyddoedd Eryri.

November Llifogydd/Floods, Pont Rhyd John, Llanbedrog 14th - The road between Llanbedrog and Pwllheli was flooded following heavy rain and a high tide. Llifogydd/Floods, Riverside, Pwllheli 16th - I saw a whiting (Merlangius merlangus) washed up on the beach at Llanbedrog. 17th - This 22cm long herring was seen half swallowed by a bass taken in a gill net. 19th - Two cormorants and a great northern diver were enmeshed in a beach net at Morfa Nefyn as seabirds are driven close to the coast by the strong winds. 25th - The strong winds and heavy rain continue. Another whiting (Merlangius merlangus) washed up on Llanbedrog beach. 30th - The first snow could be seen on the mountains of Snowdonia. |

Efallai fod hyn yn adlewyrchu cyflwr gwael yr economi wrth i bobl geisio cael arian at y Nadolig. 19eg - Tywydd oer ac eira wedi disgyn dros nos. 25ain - Bore dydd y Nadolig, sglefren fôr (Rhizostoma octopus) wedi dod i'r lan ar draeth Llanbedrog. 28ain - Amryw o gregyn bylchog (Pecten maximus) gweigion wedi eu golchi i'r lan o dan Cae'r Plan rhwng Carreg-y-Defaid a Phwllheli. 31ain - Tynnwyd y llun hwn o ddiffyg rhannol ar y lleuad o Lŷn am ddeng munud wedi saith yr hwyr. December 2nd - The strong winds continue and another whiting (Merlangius merlangus) was washed ashore on Llanbedrog beach. 10th - The strong winds continue and dead seabirds were washed ashore on Tŷ'n Tywyn / Warren beach. Shag / Mulfran werdd / (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) 18th - Beach nets set on Aberdesach beach had taken bass and mullet. Draenog y môr / Bass There has been more beach netting than usual this year. Perhaps this reflects the poor state of the economy as people attempt to make money for Christmas. 19th - Cold weather and a snowfall during the night. 25th - Christmas morning, a large jellyfish (Rhizostoma octopus) washed up on Llanbedrog beach. 28th - Several empty scallop (Pecten maximus) shells washed ashore below Cae'r Plan between Carreg-y-Defaid and Pwllheli. 31st - This partial lunar eclipse was photographed from Llŷn at 1910 hours.
